I have always loved my community and chemistry, but it wasn’t until I witnessed the decline of flourishing in my community, due to mismanaged decisions on the intersection of politics and chemistry, that I realized these two passions of mine are intertwined. In pursuing local improvements through developing a low-cost fertilizer and seeking its political acceptance, it became clear to me that innovative thinking about chemistry and society, advanced through reflections and research in social, scientific, theoretical realms, is essential to collective well-being, starting at the local level. The treatment of chemistry and society as functioning in different silos presents a problem to overcome through advancing original synthesis of relevant fields.
Dia Lekhi

Dia Lekhi is a passionate and determined young woman aspiring to become an environmental engineer, dedicated to solving the world’s pressing ecological challenges. She is driven by her commitment to sustainability and innovative engineering solutions that contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet. Dia's academic focus is matched by her curiosity for emerging green technologies and environmental protection strategies. Beyond her professional goals, she is known for her leadership skills, collaborative spirit, and active involvement in community projects, where she promotes environmental awareness.

I am a class 12 student in The Lawrence School, Sanawar. Some of my interests include playing the drums, cricket & hockey. I am a trinity grade 6 certified drummer and I have participated in multiple school level and district level competitions in hockey and cricket. I’ve also participated in the Oxford MUN, Yale MUN & World Schools Debate in order to hone my debating & problem solving skills.
